AMT graduate Nathan Lober, shared with us his Spartan College story last year. Taking a lifelong dedication to aviation, Nathan is being rewarded by the campus for all his hard work by being named the 2016 maintenance technician of the year!

Spartan College graduate Isaac Poteet took an aviation course while still in college and fell in love with aviation. After graduating high school, he chose to come to Spartan to pursue his dreams. Isaac now works for Flight Safety International in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Developing an interest in aviation at a young age from attending airshows, Spartan College graduate and now an instructor, Jacob Martinez, took his own path to where he is today. Graduating the Spartan A&P program in 2004, Jacob has been able to work all over the country. Today, Jacob is still involved with Spartan College serving the A&P Program Chair, monitoring students and instructors.
In the testimonial below Jacob shares with us how rewarding it is to see his students succeed. He also added that it is very rewarding to see prior graduates come back and recruit additional aircraft mechanics because of their belief in the program and the education they received at Spartan College.
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Joseph Kamara, started working for Delta Airlines as a ramp agent. As a ramp agent Joseph was not only able to see the aircraft, he also supervised others to ensure that everything flowed smoothly. Josephs love for aviation only grew; soon he wanted to find a school where he could expand on what he had already learned and decided that Spartan College would do just that.
Joesph graduated Spartan in November 2016 and is on his way to obtaining an Airframe and Powerplant certification. As a proud father, he continues to set a great example for his children and believes that no matter how old you are, you can always improve your life.
Spartan College graduate Armando Hernandez, started working for American Airlines as a customer service agent. He then became interested in aircraft maintenance while observing American Airlines maintenance technicians working on the flight line. Armando decided that attending Spartan College was the path that he needed to take to achieve his goal of becoming an Aviation Maintenance Technician.

After high school, Joel Brashear joined the US Air Force following in his grandfather’s footsteps. He later transitioned from active duty to school life and moved across the country 900 miles to attend Spartan. At Spartan College, Joel was the president of Spartan’s AMT Society and competed in the annual Aerospace Maintenance competition. In 2016, Joel received the James Rardon Aviation Maintenance Technician Student of the Year Award. This award recognizes the outstanding achievement of an Aviation Maintenance Technician student.
Former Marine Core mechanic Ramiro Obledo had a dream. His dream was to work on a large aircraft. Once completing his military service, Ramiro chose Spartan College because of the fast-paced, hands-on approach that Spartan College provides its students.

Spartan College Graduate Patrick Dinsmore, originally wanted to go to aviation school for Air Traffic Control, but settled on Aviation Maintenance after looking at schools and found Spartan’s high rankings and class time is split half with class time and shop time.

Ken Conn grew up with an uncle who was a pilot. His exposure to the world of aviation as a young child, sparked his interest in wanting to work in aviation. Graduating from Spartan College in 1987, Ken has gone on to have a nearly 30-year career in aviation that has taken him all around the United States.
