Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Joseph Kamara, started working for Delta Airlines as a ramp agent. As a ramp agent Joseph was not only able to see the aircraft, he also supervised others to ensure that everything flowed smoothly. Josephs love for aviation only grew; soon he wanted to find a school where he could expand on what he had already learned and decided that Spartan College would do just that.

Joesph graduated Spartan in November 2016 and is on his way to obtaining an Airframe and Powerplant certification. As a proud father, he continues to set a great example for his children and believes that no matter how old you are, you can always improve your life.

Armando Hernandez | Aviation Maintenace Technology | Spartan College Reviews

Spartan College graduate Armando Hernandez, started working for American Airlines as a customer service agent. He then became interested in aircraft maintenance while observing American Airlines maintenance technicians working on the flight line. Aviation Maintenace Technology Review | Dennis Manzano | Spartan College

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology graduate Dennis Manzano, loved to work on cars and get his hands dirty. One day a friend of his told him about Spartan College and how he could work on airplanes the same way he works on cars. Even though Dennis doesn’t like to fly planes personally, his love of fixing things enabled him to flourish while at Spartan College.

Joel Brashear | Aviation Maintenance Technology Graduate

After high school, Joel Brashear joined the US Air Force following in his grandfather’s footsteps. He later transitioned from active duty to school life and moved across the country 900 miles to attend Spartan. At Spartan College, Joel was the president of Spartan’s AMT Society and competed in the annual Aerospace Maintenance competition. In 2016, Joel received the James Rardon Aviation Maintenance Technician Student of the Year Award. This award recognizes the outstanding achievement of an Aviation Maintenance Technician student.

Timothy Owen | Spartan College Flight Instructor

Growing up next to an airport in Louisiana, Spartan College flight school instructor had a dream to fly. Working in a bank after college, Timothy decided it was time to go out and pursue the career path of his dreams.

Ramiro Obledo | Aviation Maintenance Graduate

Former Marine Core mechanic Ramiro Obledo had a dream. His dream was to work on a large aircraft. Once completing his military service, Ramiro chose Spartan College because of the fast-paced, hands-on approach that Spartan College provides its students.

Patrick Dinsmore | Aviation Maintenance Technology Graduate

Spartan College Graduate Patrick Dinsmore, originally wanted to go to aviation school for Air Traffic Control, but settled on Aviation Maintenance after looking at schools and found Spartan’s high rankings and class time is split half with class time and shop time. 

Taking advantage of the Spartan community, Patrick was able to make many friends and connections while earning his degree. Today, Patrick now works with AAR and he recommends Spartan College because they prepare you right for the transition from school to career. Ken Conn | Aviation Maintenance Technology Graduate

Ken Conn grew up with an uncle who was a pilot. His exposure to the world of aviation as a young child, sparked his interest in wanting to work in aviation. Graduating from Spartan College in 1987, Ken has gone on to have a nearly 30-year career in aviation that has taken him all around the United States.

When Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology math instructor John Ponder, came to Spartan with a passion for not only aviation, but for teaching as well. With 17 years of being a high school math teacher, John wanted to spread his wings bridge the gap of his two passions.

When the opportunity at Spartan College came up for John, he took it with the idea that he could not only teach, but teach something that his students will use every day in their aviation career paths.

Brian Daniels Flight Campus President

With a fascination dating back to his early childhood, Brian wanted to fly. With having two parents in the Air Force and spending his formative years in Germany, when it came time for school Brian ended up in Oklahoma with a surrogate family who also was in the Air Force.

With help of his surrogate father who was a flight instructor himself, Brian would go up to the Base on the weekends and asked himself “Why can’t I fly?” Following the path to becoming a pilot in the military, Brian found himself at Spartan in 2013 as an active duty member. Today Brian is in the reserves and is now the campus president.
