AMT graduate Nathan Lober, shared with us his Spartan College story last year. Taking a lifelong dedication to aviation, Nathan is being rewarded by the campus for all his hard work by being named the 2016 maintenance technician of the year!

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology NDT graduate Kristin Bale, always has had a passion for space travel. The safety aspect of space flight was something that Kristin wanted to make a difference in. Taking her education from Spartan, she’s taken her talents to help make space travel safer working at Space X as a Non-Destructive tester.

Spartan College graduate Isaac Poteet took an aviation course while still in college and fell in love with aviation. After graduating high school, he chose to come to Spartan to pursue his dreams. Isaac now works for Flight Safety International in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Spartan College campus president Ryan Goertzen grew up in a small town in Nebraska and had an early exposure to the world of aviation. Thanks to an aerial operator that was next door to his childhood home, Ryan knew being a pilot was what he wanted to do with his life.
Graduating from the University of Nebraska, Ryan moved to Appleton, Wisconsin where he worked as a pilot instructor. His next move was to Oklahoma City, where he became the director of training for an organization called AR Corp before becoming the flight campus president at Spartan College.

Spartan College graduate, Marissa Huybers, always knew she wanted to have a career that would allow her to work with her hands. While taking auto shop in high school, she learned all about Spartan College from a friend. Enrolling at Spartan, and earning her degree from our NDT & QC program, she now works for Baker and Hughes as a Quality Control Inspector.

Spartan College graduate Kymberly Logan grew up on a farm in a small Kanas town. Her farm had a runaway in her backyard, and she’s been flying in airplanes since she was six months old. From that moment on, she had a love for all things aviation.
In 2004, while visiting Spartan College with her grandmother, Kymberly took the steps to pursue a career in aviation. With her grandmother’s blessing that she could do anything she put her mind to, Kymberly chose Spartan, and graduated.
Today, Kymberly is currently working as an Aircraft Mechanic at Elite Aircraft Service in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Every day when she comes to work she is challenged by her job and feels empowered by her career than began at Spartan.

Spartan College instructor Alan Rapp, grew up in the air force and has been around airplanes his entire life. Because of his upbringing being around airplanes, Alan acquired his private pilot’s license.
To be closer to his family, Alan started working for Southwest Airlines loading bags. While working at Southwest, he developed an interest in becoming a line mechanic. Earning his A&P certification, he moved up to a line mechanic at Southwest. When he’s not at Southwest, Alan dedicates his time to teaching Spartan students as a way to give back to a career that’s given so much to him.
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology Joseph Kamara, started working for Delta Airlines as a ramp agent. As a ramp agent Joseph was not only able to see the aircraft, he also supervised others to ensure that everything flowed smoothly. Josephs love for aviation only grew; soon he wanted to find a school where he could expand on what he had already learned and decided that Spartan College would do just that.
Joesph graduated Spartan in November 2016 and is on his way to obtaining an Airframe and Powerplant certification. As a proud father, he continues to set a great example for his children and believes that no matter how old you are, you can always improve your life.
Spartan College graduate Armando Hernandez, started working for American Airlines as a customer service agent. He then became interested in aircraft maintenance while observing American Airlines maintenance technicians working on the flight line. Armando decided that attending Spartan College was the path that he needed to take to achieve his goal of becoming an Aviation Maintenance Technician.
Armando arrived Spartan not knowing anything about aircraft and now is on his way to obtaining an Airframe and Powerplant certification. Find out Armando’s Spartan College story in his testimony below.
